In order to maintain the level food safety and product quality that we demand for our clientele, Milton Abeles, Inc. has in place a strict policy for the procurement of our meat products.
1) Beef:
A. Beef plants must be located in central plains states.
B. The cattle must come from farms and feed lots that adhere
__ to the 1997 non ruminant feed policy established by the USDA.
C. The cattle must come from known gene pools with traceability
__ and be from domestic sources. No imported livestock is acceptable. __ All beef products must be source verifiable.
D. The cattle must be corn fed for specific lengths of time.
E. All cattle are from native American cattle, predominately of
__ Angus breed. No Holstein, exotic breeds or cows acceptable.
F. All plants are subject to inspection by personnel from Milton
__ Abeles, Inc. or their agents in order to verify all of the
__ above are adhered to and for HACCP acceptance. |
2) Lamb:
A. All domestic lambs come from either Colorado and Iowa.
B. All domestic lambs are grain fed.
C. Weight classifications are 55-65# and 85-90# yield grade 2 & 3 only.
D Hotel racks are size ranged and graded.

3) Pork:
A. All pork is domestic pork from grain fed hogs.
B. Source verified for breed and feed.
C. No Sows or Breeders |
4) Veal:
A. All domestic calves from either Pennsylvania or Ohio.
B. Source verified genetics.
C. Hand selected for size, color, confirmation and quality. |
5) Poultry:
A. All breed specific poultry
B. Never administered antibiotics or hormones.
C. Certified and labeled Free Range
D. Fed only on a specific high protein feed program
E. Raised in Pennsylvania under the supervision of the
__ Pennsylvania Dutch Community. |
In addition, all ABF products must have affidavits accompanying shipments to verify their All Natural status, and be source verifiable. Only with the proper documentation, will ABF products be accepted by Milton Abeles, Inc.
